VC: See the deal

As a VC, you must always be on the lookout for new deals.

Say you want to invest in a B round – you’ll want to find Series A companies who have raised in the last 12 months.

Here’s how to use CB Insights Advanced Search to do that.

Using filters on the left side, we can start with a list of all of the Series A companies.

Then, let’s filter down to those who have raised in the last 12 months by selecting a ‘Custom date Range’ and go back one year.

That gives us a little over 6500 results.

We can narrow the list down further based on a variety of filters.  For example, Mosaic scores, which are CB Insights proprietary system for benchmarking private companies by analyzing thousands of data points.

Let’s say we’re only interested in companies with a top 5% overall Mosaic score. Now we’re down to a little under 1500 companies.

From here we can filter further based on market or company attributes, save the search, add companies to a collection, or download the list.
