Sensing hardware and computer vision startups have seen over a half-dozen raises since last August.
Though Mobileye is unique for its relative maturity in the auto tech space (IPO’d in 2014), sensing hardware and computer vision startups have been among the hottest in the field, with over a half-dozen raises since August of last year. These range from a number of Series A rounds (TetraVue, Blackmore, Oryx) to Quanergy‘s $90M Series B that vaulted it to a unicorn valuation of $1.58B. Another LiDAR firm worth tracking is Velodyne which is said to be on track to do $190M of revenue in 2017.
