The technology private equity behemoth is intensifying its investments and acquisitions in the sales tech space, deploying at least $5B+ in the last 12 months. We look at where Vista sees opportunities in sales & marketing tech and the valuations and multiples it’s paying.
Vista Equity Partners has acquired 6 companies in just over a year focused on different parts of the sales & marketing tech stack. The companies span every part of the sales & marketing process, including:
- Customer relationship management (CRM)
- Sales engagement
- Customer success
- Conversational marketing
- Social media listening & management
In one case, as you’ll see below, Vista is rolling up and integrating a set of acquisitions and merging them under a new brand. We don’t anticipate it’ll bundle or integrate the vast majority of these sales & marketing tech companies under a single brand, but nevertheless, it is clear Vista sees massive opportunities in Salesforce’s domain.
Given the growth in funding to both sales tech and marketing tech companies over the last several years, it’s a space rich in targets for Vista as it continues to look for opportunities to consolidate players in the space.
