We used CB Insights’ real-time unicorn tracker to identify all the e-commerce startups globally that have reached unicorn status, i.e. are valued at more than $1B. There are a total of 22 e-commerce unicorns with a total value of $59.4B, which translates to 13% of the valuation of all unicorns combined as of July 29, 2015.
India-based online marketplace Flipkart tops the list with a $15B valuation as of May 2015. Flipkart is backed by major investors, including Accel Partners and Morgan Stanley and has received $3B in total funding. Second on the list is Coupang, a Korean daily-deals site valued at $5B. It has received $1.44B in funding and is backed by BlackRock and Softbank Corp.

This list includes companies such as Gilt Groupe, Delivery Hero and Warby Parker. China is second with 4 unicorns including Dianping and VANCL. India is in third with 3 unicorns, and then Germany with 2 unicorns.
