During this week’s Intel Capital Global Summit, the chipmaker’s VC arm announced $38M in investments to 12 startups. One of these was Chronocam, a French company developing imaging sensors and vision algorithms for applications such as advanced driver assistance and self-driving tech.

Vision and sensor startups have been hot commodities as investors and corporates look for opportunities within the autonomous ecosystem. We profiled four such VC-backed startups that have secured funding since August of this year.

Supply chain & logistics startups on the rise

Uber‘s freight ambitions took another step forward this week, with Otto completing its first (partially) self-driven delivery and the company soft launching its Uber Freight service.

As we’ve noted in previous issues, tech companies are increasingly targeting fields within supply chain and logistics. Digging into the data, we see a sharp rise in deals and dollars flowing into the space. We also broke down trends by stage and the most active investors.
