Getting connected
Hi there,
On-demand urban logistics startup Postmates closed what CEO Bastian Lehmann described as a “super, super difficult fundraise,” raising a $141M round led by existing investor Founders Fund.
Before the official announcement broke, we caught a filing with our new Enhanced Valuations capability on CB Insights showing that Postmates had authorized the sale of up to $190M for the new round.
The filing also provided an advance indication that Postmates was raising at a flat price per share. Below is a peek at the company’s profile with the Enhanced Valuation and deal terms data.
Connected car startups continue drawing investment
This week’s $12M Series A to Otonomo, an Israeli company building a connected car data platform, was just the latest in a string of recent financings within the connected vehicle realm.
Connected car startups continue to be a hot commodity, a notable contrast to the broader IoT (Internet of Things) market which has seen deals and funding slump throughout 2016.
P.S. Uber board member and chief advisor David Plouffe will join us at the CB Insights Innovation Summit in Santa Barbara, CA from January 10-12th to discuss regulatory hurdles in ridesharing, autonomous vehicles, and more.
