Compared to last year, the IPO Pipeline has gotten smaller, as we have refined Mosaic, a tool that assesses and scores private company health and momentum. There were 531 companies in the previous Tech IPO Pipeline. Companies in the 2017 Tech IPO Pipeline include Pluralsight, Okta, and Qualtrics, among many others.

Funding activity
Funding to 2017 Tech IPO Pipeline companies reached $21.8B in 2016 through 12/7/16, down nearly 22% over 2015. Investment activity was steadily climbing since 2000, reaching a peak of nearly $28B in 2015.
There were 204 deals to Tech IPO Pipeline companies as of 12/7/16, 41 of which were for $100M+. Despite seeing steady growth over the last decade, deal flow was down for the second consecutive year since peaking in 2014 with 307 deals. The largest deals in 2016 include Uber‘s $3.5B private equity round, Infor‘s $2.5B private equity round, and Snap‘s $1.3B Series E+. Uber also had the largest deal of 2015, along with other $1B+ deals to Airbnb, Social Finance, and SpaceX.
