The Phase 1 clinical trial data using an experimental contraceptive pill for men was recently presented at a medical conference. We assess the significance of its findings for the male fertility market and highlight the early players in the space.
On Monday, researchers from Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute & the University of Washington presented results from a Phase 1 trial.
In the trial, 30 healthy men took a modified form of a testosterone pill as a contraceptive over 28 days, while 10 took placebo pills. This was funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD).
