There’s an app for that
Hi there,
Amid the broader insurance tech boom, mobile is an increasingly large focus area for startups in the space.
Many of the mobile-first startups are providing a central app to manage policies and premiums including CoverPocket, which launched its app last month. But others are providing services ranging from SMS-based insurance quoting to property inspection tablet apps to hourly car insurance apps.
It was a big week for international activity in the insurance tech space as Turtlemint (India), Rabbit Finance (Thailand), and SmartHR (Japan) all announced financing rounds. Catch all the latest deals in the insurance tech space here.
Lemonade names its reinsurers
Startup P2P insurance carrier Lemonade announced its global reinsurance partners today, which included Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity and Lloyd’s of London.
It’s the startup’s third public announcement in three months. In December, Lemonade raised 2015’s biggest US tech seed round. Last month, Lemonade announced a host of former AIG and ACE exec hires. Will an announcement next month’s unveil its product offering?
