2015 saw an explosion of corporate investment activity by the global insurance industry, as deal activity jumped to a new record of over 30 deals. But some insurance corporates were busier than the rest on the investment front this year, according to CB Insights data.
We ranked corporate insurance investors by deal activity (new and follow-on) between the start of the year and December 21, 2015, in a year which saw many new corporate venture groups.
As the data shows, longer-standing groups like AXA Strategic Ventures ranked second by deal activity, while other investors just getting off the ground this year including Aviva Ventures and Hartford Steam Boiler disclosed just a single deal in 2015 YTD.
