Deals and funding to materials and equipment marketplaces and inventory and logistics companies are on pace to reach new highs in 2021.
Infra.Market, a Mumbai-based company developing a marketplace for raw construction materials, such as cement, steel, and various chemicals, raised a $100M Series C at the end of February. The deal values Infra.Market at $1B.
The deal is among the largest for a construction materials marketplace and is reflective of construction managers’ strategic emphasis on supply chain optimization, which has led to rising investment in materials and equipment marketplaces and last-mile delivery services. Other major deals include steel marketplace Zhaogang‘s $153M Series E in January 2016 and its $100M Series D in January 2015.
