Data network effects occur when more users get you more data which lets you build better algorithms and ultimately a better product to get more users and hence more data.
Being a data company, data network effects have been our holy grail.
And also are much harder to make happen than we ever imagined.
However, by finally appealing to people’s enlightened self-interest with our rankings and market maps and our newsletter reach (all comprising the aforementioned crack), the CBI data flywheel is humming, giving us an unfair data advantage.
