Founders Fund and Thrive continue co-investments.
So we picked up on a joint investment by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund and Josh Kushner’s Thrive Capital into Cedar, a medical billing platform for healthcare providers. Both Thiel and Kushner have ties to President Trump. Thiel was a vocal backer and Kushner is the brother of Trump’s son-in-law, Jared.
Among all early stage digital health deals in 2017, the $12.8M Series A for Cedar is the 2nd largest.
Thrive and Founders Fund are not strangers with 7 current co-investments. We’re curious to see if their co-investment increases over time.
