Hey Victoria’s Secret
Got some bad news for you.
Amazon is coming.
Do you know media?
CB Insights was cited by the media 2100+ times in 2016. We’re looking for someone to work with our existing media relationships and build new ones. You need to be organized, smart as heck, and ambitious. This position is based in NYC.
And today, I’m excited to announce that Megan Quinn, former Director of Product at Square and now partner at Spark Capital will be joining us.
Megan’s been on both sides of the table as an operator in a fast-growing fintech company (Square) and then as an investor first at Kleiner Perkins prior to joining Spark.
We’re excited to have her join us as we dig into where she sees opportunities within financial services as well as the impact of new interfaces like chatbots, voice and smart devices will have on financial services.
You’ve got 2 more days to get $1000 off tickets (Feb 17th) with the code SmartSpeaker. Just go here.
Energy patents galore
We analyzed over 50,000 US renewable energy patent grants and applications between 2009 and 1/31/2017. Toyota was the top patent holder in renewable energy technologies, with 800 patent grants to its name since 2009. General Motors ranked second, followed closely by General Electric and Samsung.
Even with El Presidente Trump tweeting relentlessly, Twitter’s user growth was trounced by Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
That group thing
Several corporate development, corporate strategy/innovation, CIO teams, and VCs are sending their entire group to this year’s Future of Fintech. As a result, for groups of 10, we’ve set up bulk purchase options.
For clients, you can get 10 tickets for $8950 through Feb 17th. For non-clients, you can get 10 tickets for $18,950 through Feb 17th.
These group rates are not available to service providers (sales, investment banks, lawyers, etc) unless you are a client.
If you have a question on group tickets, feel free to ping me.
A world full of unicorns
There are 22 fintech unicorns globally valued at $74B in aggregate. The US counts 11 of the 22 companies, Asia counts 7, and Europe counts 4.
