The energy analytics space is heating up and these are the companies that are generating momentum
The energy analytics space is extremely hot right now, with more than $132M invested through Q3 2014 and OPOWER having a billion dollar IPO. As consumers and businesses look to decrease their energy usage and energy suppliers try to optimize for demand, energy analytics companies play an important role in helping both sides. Powered by CB Insights data, we put together a list of 12 energy analytics companies that are gaining momentum. These companies are all companies that have raised money recently in a Series B funding or earlier.
Many of the companies on this list have won awards or secured significant contracts recently, such as BuildingIQ being recognized as the “Best Commercial Energy Efficiency Project for 2014” in Australia or Bidgely partnering with TXU Energy to offer analytics to homes in Texas. Lucid Design Group has raised the most money on this list, with $40M being invested from investors such as Shasta Ventures and In-Q-Tel. New York based Enertiv graduated from the Techstars incubator and has raised $750K from Vaidya Capital Partners and R/GA Ventures.
