an ugly unicorn IPO

So round 1 of our bracket to select the most innovative consumer product since the iPhone has concluded.

And I gotta say I’m disappointed in some of the results.

First, the selfie-stick lost to the hoverboard. What? There are clearly too many people from San Francisco on this newsletter.

And then to add insult to injury, the Snuggie lost to Powerwall.

For those that don’t know, the Snuggie was the original wearable.

In any case, the people have spoken. I won’t even get into my voter fraud theories.

Now, it’s round 2 which closes Sunday, April 9th.

Last week, Hadoop software provider Cloudera filed its S-1 with the goal of raising $200M in its IPO. The company was last valued at $4.1B in 2014, and data suggests Cloudera may have trouble achieving its last valuation in its public offering.
