Five things you need to know today, and here's hoping this great OTR idea takes off Jun 9, 2015, 7:56am EDT //= $authorImg ?> Good morning, Cincinnati! Here are the five most important things you need to know to help start your busy business day: Blue Ash to get $20M spec development Tom Demeropolis reports that Schuermann Properties and Citimark are teaming to buy a 43-acre site in Blue Ash with plans for a huge commercial development . The property, at 10900 Kenwood Road, is one of the last large undeveloped sites in Blue Ash. The developers will build a new facility, either as a build-to-suit or on spec, with construction expected to start later this year. The site has room for 530,000 square feet of commercial space. You're not 20 anymore, but if you're going to keep pretending, here are 5 mistakes weekend warriors make and how you can avoid them . This is a sponsored message from The Christ Hospital Health Network. One Walnut investment group in receivership One of Cincinnati-based Walnut Group’s private equity partnerships, with $35 million in funding from its investors, has gone into receivership because of capital problems , Steve Watkins reports. The Small Business Administration , which loaned an additional $70 million to Walnut Investment Partners LP, is the receiver for the partnership and is now trying to sell its assets. Walnut’s partnership is set up as a Small Business Investment Co. That means the SBA invests $2 for each dollar a fund raises. In Walnut’s case, the SBA’s loan created a $105 million fund. General Cable names CEO Highland Heights-based General Cable , one of the area's largest public companies, has a new CEO. Michael McDonnell will take over effective July 1 . He replaces Gregory Kenny , who is retiring after 14 years as chief executive at the energy, industrial communication and construction wiring firm. McDonnell comes to town from Houston, where he was CEO of TPC Group, a $2.5 billion petrochemical company. General Cable It is Cincinnati's sixth largest public company with $6.4 billion in 2013 revenue. It's also on the new to the Fortune 500 list, at No. 443. Council Democrats poised to take control of city budget Chris Wetterich reports that Cincinnati's health and human services department, CincyTech, Cintrifuse, bike programs, neighborhood associations and Clifton Market would get more money under changes majority Democrats plan to make to the proposed budget from Mayor John Cranley and City Manager Harry Black . Those programs would see increased funding as a part of $5.4 million the Democrats plan to shift around in the $1 billion budget, which City Council must pass by June 30 for the city’s 2016 fiscal year to begin on July 1. I Spy Cincinnati Have you ever noticed this week's I Spy subject ? This day in history On this day 200 years ago, the Congress of Vienna ended. The Congress, which defined the word "extravagant," restructured the new Europe into, well, the old Europe after the defeat of Napoleon. Even if you're not interested in 19th century European politics, I highly recommend this book . It's a window into a world that it's hard to believe ever existed. Trending on Google Business News
