May 28, 2023 The global expansion of the payment partnership between UniCredit and Mastercard is the first time that a major commercial bank implements a single-card multi-market strategy on such a scale in Europe to provide an even better digital experience for its customers, the bank said. The new level of cooperation allows UniCredit to provide: a simplified core product offering, an optimized digital experience with a full range of in-app solutions, and an innovative approach, increasing customer choice through multiple payment channels. The cooperation, which fits UniCredit Unlocked’s strategy, is for several years and focuses on the implementation of the banking group’s goals, such as the digitization of payment solutions, the provision of multifunctional solutions with a single card, and the strengthening of consumer loyalty. Through the partnership, both parties contribute to the realization of their goals related to environmental and social sustainability, emphasizing the implementation of projects related to common ESG goals, the development of solutions that promote the development of communities, and – through conscious spending decisions – the fight against climate change.
