India: Prabha Energy raises $20m from PE firm Tridevi Capital Subscribe to our newsletter Bhawna Gupta December 20, 2016:   Prabha Energy Pvt Ltd (PEPL), a subsidiary of Ahmedabad-based Deep Industries Ltd , has raised $20 million from Tridevi Capital Partners, the company said in a stock market disclosure. The investment is done through subscription of compulsorily convertible debentures, which will represent 40 per cent stake in PEPL on a fully-diluted basis upon conversion in equity shares. The deal values PEPL at $50 million, according to the filing. Prabha Energy will use the funding primarily for capital and operating expenditure for the development and production of natural gas from the coal bed methane block in North Karanpura Coalfield, Jharkhand. PEPL holds 25 per cent participating interest NK-CBM Block. Prabha Energy is engaged in the activities relating to the exploration, production, development, mining, marketing, transportation of CBM in India. Promoted by Paras S Savla and Rupesh K Savla, Deep Industries was founded in 1991. It has four business verticles including gas compression, work-over rigs, marginal gas fields and exploration of coal-bed methane. In FY 2015-16, the company had revenues of Rs 169 crore and a net profit of about Rs 41 crore. Deep Industries’ scrip closed at Rs 301.05 each, up 3.45 per cent on BSE in a weak Mumbai market on Tuesday. Mazars India was the financial advisor and Krishnamurthy and Company (K Law) acted as legal counsel for PEPL while Luthra & Luthra Law Offices acted as legal counsel for Tridevi Capital on this deal.
