B2B supply chain startup in the maritime and offshore segment Shipskart raised $2.7 million in Series A led by Trail Mix Ventures (TMV) and Hermes Offshore where Tradeworks.vc, Motion Ventures and Eternia Investments also participated. ShipsKart is a B2B online marketplace where ships, ship management, ports, and shipyards may buy marine items, consumables, equipment, and service products for ship operations. 80% of the funding will be used to expand its operations in India, giving mid-sized shipping firms and suppliers a unique opportunity to empower and streamline their entire procurement life cycle with a single point of contact. ShipsKart claims to have a worldwide network of 500 partners in over 40 countries. Shipskart now operates fulfilment centres in Mumbai and Cochin, with plans to expand to Gujarat, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, and Kolkata in the coming year.
