Letters, Oct. 25: ‘Time to take Trudeau to the polls again’

Oct 25, 2021

Author of the article: Article content FORCE AN ELECTION Re: Punish Trudeau. The Conservatives, BQ and NDP should take the first opportunity to bring the Liberal government down. It’s with pure arrogance that Justin Trudeau has delayed the opening of parliament and he should be punished with a vote of no confidence! Hell, we are paying the wages of these Ottawa cowboys and we deserve better. And PS, don’t cry about having no money for an election. J.D. ROUND (Do you really think it would end differently? Too many Canadians are spellbound by the man and his party.) Advertisement Article content GOT THE JAB? My wife is in need of a dentist. She made an appointment at one place. Then she asked them if their staff was vaccinated. They refused to answer. She called another dentist and asked the same question. They refused to answer as well. Why do we have vaccine passports when dentists can’t assure us that their staff are vaccinated? STEPHEN LEBER We apologize, but this video has failed to load. Try refreshing your browser, or COSTLY ELECTION Re: The new mayor. Congratulations to the people that voted her in. You will now enjoy your taxes going up and up to cover her wants. The LRT extension, a new arena, and only God knows what else. We will be taxed into poverty. I’m willing to bet that motor vehicles will soon be banned from the city core. FRANK TRCKA Advertisement Article content LEFTY ZEALOTS Why do we allow California idiots and lefties and B.C. wannabes to dictate our preferences across the continent? Now California is banning gas-fired lawn mowers and leaf blowers. Maybe they should ban gas-powered cars and jets for their movie star trips to sets! GEORGE EWERT WHERE’S THE DOUGH? Re: $10 million from Kananaskis Pass. Although I do not support this tax to use the Kananaskis area, I did purchase an annual pass as I have hiked in this area for over 30 years and wish to continue doing so. However, it seems that if $10 million has been raised from passes, then hiring more staff and conservation officers as well as upgrades to the Nordic Centre still only accounts for a very small amount of this revenue. Where are the upgrades to trails, improved signage for trails, upgrades to facilities at trailheads and are cross-country ski trails going to be groomed for free this year? If the UCP is really going to put all the money back into Kananaskis, then they have at least $4-5 million yet to spend right now, never mind future revenue, so let’s get to it and put all that money back into Kananaskis now! NIGEL HIGENBOTTAM THE HEAT IS ON So Calgary’s new, esteemed, woke mayor’s first order of business is to declare a climate emergency. Here’s an idea for her, turn off all gas to city hall and heat the building internally with all the hot air coming out of council chambers. Be the first time in years something good has come out of council chambers. JOE JOHNS Share this Story: Letters, Oct. 25: 'Time to take Trudeau to the polls again'
