5About Rod Dowler
Rod is one of the founders of the Industry Forum, established in 1993. A retired KPMG consultancy partner, he has spent a number of years working as a business angel with start-up technology companies. Rod worked initially in management consultancy at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and then, for fifteen years, as a partner at KPMG where he led the KPMG European High Technology Practice through a period of rapid growth. At KPMG, he participated in many engagements for the European Commission. From 2000, Rod has been involved, as a business angel, in managing and raising finance for a number of technology start-ups including zoomf.com the first UK property search engine. In two years, zoomf.com grew to national coverage and was acquired by a national newspaper group in 2008. Rod has also advised on a number of large outsourcing deals and, was an expert witness in a high-profile software patent case. RodÂâÂÂs non-executive roles have included: Governor, and Chair of Finance, at Highgate Wood, a London Comprehensive school and member of the Executive Committee of the Campaign for Science and Engineering. He holds a BA in Physics and an MA from Oxford University.
