Lambert has joined the firm as an Executive in Residence. Brett represents a major addition to the team and a significant increase in the firm's ability to deliver strategic and market insights to its defense, intelligence, government services and aerospace clients. Brett brings twenty five years of experience in the defense and intelligence sector. Since 2009 until joining RSAdvisors, he was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy. He served as the principal advisor to the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics on matters relating to the defense industrial base: mergers & acquisitions, preservation of essential industries and technologies, and industrial capabilities and assessments. In 2011 Mr. Lambert led President Obama's Department of Defense effort to establish the first National Network for Manufacturing Innovation site, which selected additive manufacturing as the focal point for the Administration's pursuit of a manufacturing renaissance. In 2011 he was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service and in 2013 he was awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest award from the Secretary available to a non-career civilian. Also in 2013, Mr. Lambert was awarded the National Defense Industrial Association Gold Medal, the highest honor awarded by the industry organization with over 1,700 corporate and 80,000 private members, for his efforts in support of the defense industrial base. Prior to joining the DoD, he spent 20 years helping build and grow DFI International, a national security consultancy. He ultimately held the titles of Executive Vice President of DFI International and Managing Director of DFI Investment Partners. At DFI International, Brett specialized in technology assessments, strategic planning and market analyses for defense, intelligence and space companies. He also worked closely with a number of leading venture funds, merchant banks, and private equity firms in support of their national security portfolio companies. Throughout his time with DFI, Brett was engaged in scores of acquisitions, international joint ventures, offset arrangements, and foreign equity investments in the national security space.
