Press enter to search Priority Plastics has expanded its capacity and capabilities in a range of moves for the environmentally conscious rigid plastics packaging company. The newest initiative is the acquisition and installation of injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) production capabilities in its Portland, Ind.-based manufacturing facility. The patented, single-stage technology is new to the United States and exclusive to Priority Plastics, the company said. The acquisition increases PET container capacity and the ability to offer retailers and their private brands unique container shapes and sizes. Containers can range in size from a 1-gallon bottle to as large as a 25-gallon drum in a variety of neck shapes. The materials are 100% recyclable and the patented technology saves up to 40% electricity and is equipped with an air-regeneration system designed to recover approximately two-thirds of the high-pressure blowing air. “This expansion is an investment in the future growth of Priority Plastics and is consistent with the company’s corporate values, which include the principles of Quality, Timeliness, Relationships and Sustainability,” said D. Scott Dowrey, president of Priority Plastics. “It is a tangible measure of commitment to growing our PriorityONE partnership program, and it expands the U.S. manufacturing footprint here in the Portland, Indiana, area.” The company also announced it has received Safe Quality Food certification at the Portland location, as well as in its canister place.
