The billionaire partner of New York-based Coatue Management and his wife, Liz Laffont, bought the two homes in different deals at 525 and 521 Spoleto Drive, Dirt.com reported. In November, the Laffonts bought two parcels with a 7,200-square-foot house and a tennis court at 525 and 527 Spoleto Drive for $29.5 million, as reported by The Real Deal. In March, the couple bought two more parcels containing the 5,100-square foot house next door at 521 Spoleto Drive for $18 million. The seller of both estates was TV producer Ben Silverman, of “The Office” and “Jane the Virgin.” Silverman bought all four parcels, for a combined 1.4 acres, between 2010 and 2017 for $20 million. Broker Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency handled both sides of the Palisades deals. Both of the East Coast traditional homes in the Pacific Palisades Riviera have sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. Both are two stories. Both are gray, with white trim. Both have outdoor pools. The properties are across the street from a mansion owned by billionaire David Bonderman and his partner, film producer Christa Campbell. In December, they paid $17.5 million for the newly built home. The Laffonts have owned homes in some of the state’s richest neighborhoods, including Montecito, Malibu and Woodside. In February, Thomas Laffont announced Coatue Management would open a new Los Angeles office. The Belgium-born Laffont, who launched his career in the CAA mailroom before joining the hedge fund founded by his older brother, Philippe Laffont, has bought and sold numerous high-end estates.He now owns a $12 million estate in Montecito and a $13 million compound on Malibu’s Point Dume.
