December 16, 2021 Perdue Farms associates in Salisbury, Maryland, continued a decades-long tradition with The Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore by delivering a truckload of holiday gifts on Friday, Dec. 10, for distribution to hundreds of children and families through the nonprofit’s annual Angel Tree Program. The truckload of gifts, including bicycles, clothing, toys and more, will be distributed to 1,013 children and benefit 400-plus families from Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Perdue also donated 1,200 chicken roaster that will be given to families supported by the program. “The Angel Tree program is such a crucial part of what we do in the community. There are so many families who are struggling this year, and that’s why our goal is to provide a child more than just a gift, but also hope,” said Major Cristina Trantham of The Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore. “We want children to have a wonderful Christmas, and our Angel Tree program helps to make that happen.” Perdue’s participation aligns with the company’s “Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors” initiative focused on improving quality of life and building stronger communities where its associates work and live. “We know families are struggling for whatever reason, especially during the holidays, and many parents are unable to provide something to give their children on Christmas Day,” said Bill See, senior manager of community relations for Perdue Farms. “Every year, our associates look forward to purchasing gifts for the children and the opportunity to deliver a little hope to their neighbors in partnership with The Salvation Army.” About Perdue Farms  We're a fourth-generation, family owned, U.S. food and agriculture company.
