Merseyside Special Investment Fund backing Wirral football coach's venture 06:04, 31 Mar 2016 Louise Codman is establishing a Little Kickers franchise - the world’s biggest and most successful pre-school football academy  Shares Get business news by email Invalid e-mail Subscribe Thanks for subscribing!Could not subscribe, try again later Football coach Louise Codman, who is setting up Little Kickers coaching academies in Wirral, with Steve Hitchen from MSIF Football coach Louise Codman is launching a Merseyside franchise of a pre-school football academy – with backing of almost £10,000 from Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF). Established in 2002, Little Kickers operates 210 franchises with 1,500 coaches in 16 countries and is seen as the world’s biggest and most successful pre-school football academy. It coaches children up to the age of seven segmented into classes across four age groups. Ms Codman’s initial sites include Hoylake, Greasby and Wallasey and there are plans to open in additional venues in the area. The programmes are specifically designed to teach high quality football skills and also a number of pre-school learning concepts. MSIF has provided a £9,800 loan to assist with start-up costs including the franchise fee and equipment. Ms Codman said: “I love football. I coach a women’s team twice a week and my two young daughters are at Little Kickers in south Liverpool. When I heard there was an opportunity to run the franchise in the Wirral area I jumped at the chance, this is a dream come true for me. “I have already received lots of interest and many of the classes are nearly full. “There are lots of opportunities to grow the business and I am looking at the possibility of running sessions in pre-schools and nurseries. I am also looking at taking on another franchise area locally. “The loan from MSIF has been absolutely crucial to enable me to start my business and I am really grateful for the support they have provided.”
