(“Reflex”), a newly formed company focused on delivering high speed parallel optical devices for the rapidly growing market in very short reach (VSR) applications. The Company’s innovations will respond to a need for robust, lower cost and high performance devices for high speed (30 Gigabits per second and up) Very Short Reach applications in the telecommunications and computing industries. “Reflex has been working very closely with the team at Inno-Centre over the past year in order to clearly define their market strategy. And now, with MSBi’s support, its network and strategic relationship with McGill University, the Company will have the necessary resources to bring their first product to market,” said Chris Arsenault, Partner at MSBi Capital. The Company has established a strong technology relationship with McGill University and most importantly with McGill’s Photonic Systems Laboratory, under Dr. David Plant’s leadership, and with the McGill Nano-Tools Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Kirk. A locus of world-class engineers, including the co-founders of Reflex, McGill’s facilities and growing expertise are transforming Montreal into the newest hotbed for photonic research. In addition to international contracts and research, McGill’s is also the home of the Agile All-Photonic Research Network (AAPN). Launched in January 2003, the AAPN research network is the recipient of one of the largest grants available from the Government of Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) for this type of project: $7 million over 5 years and encompassing cross-cutting collaborative research between its academic, industrial and government partners. The Management team is comprised of leading industry experts including: at the helm, Marc Leroux, President and CEO; Tomasz Maj, Co-founder and Vice-President Engineering; and David R.
