Anthony Rapp has come full circle. In 1996, the actor played the original Mark Cohen of Broadway in the famous musical “Rent”, which was set in the East Village. Now Rapp and his partner, Ken Ithiphol, have shelled out $ 3.57 million for a house in the nabe. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is located at 32 E. 1st St. It requested $ 3.62 million in 2019. Obie’s winning Rapp now plays the openly gay Lt. Cmdr. Paul Stamets on “Star Trek: Discovery”. (Rapp was also the first actor to accuse actor Kevin Spacey of sexual assault in 2017.) In the East Village, Rapp’s new home measures 1,497 square feet and features an open kitchen, triple-glazed windows, 10-foot ceilings, and 5-inch white oak floors.
