Looking Back: The Luxembourg Tech Ecosystem In 2022 December 28, 2022 Silicon Luxembourg looks back at some of the highlights of 2022 for Tech startups. Luxembourg achieved a global reach as trade fairs and conferences returned to in-person events while local startups found their voice with the creation of the Luxembourg Startups Association. January: Ministers Franz Fayot and George Engel kicked off the new year with a visit to the House of Startups . The pair visited the newly hosted maison de l’économie social et de l’innovation sociale (MeSIS) and listened to the pitches of the promising and innovative startups. (Photo: Stephanie Jabardo) March: International women’s day– photo of girls asking questions  Young people had a chance to join the debate on gender inclusion in fintech at a LHoFT/Knowthybrand event to mark International Women’s Day. (Photo: House Of Startups) April: University students Clémentine Offner and Ivo Silva scooped the Young Enterprise final prize for their startup WeConnect , connecting students and elderly homeowners to provide an affordable housing solution. In addition, some 40 Luxembourg representatives attended the Paris tech show as part of an accompanied visit from the chamber of commerce. Parker talked about the projects he has worked on to nurture the basketball community. (Photo: Stephanie Jabardo) July: “Move fast and build things” was the advice of economy minister Franz Fayot at the official launch of the Luxembourg Startups Association , a platform created by founders for founders. (Photo: Stephanie Jabardo) CTO and co-founder of Next Gate Tech Semin Ibisevic shared insights into the technical  challenges of revolutionising the fund industry, when he spoke at the first Silicon Luxembourg Summer Talk at Cloche d’Or’s beach chalet. During the visit, mayor Dan Biancalana said that the hub will expand its space by 50% over the next 6 months and double in size within two years, thanks to growing demand from greentechs.
