The instances are aimed at providing enterprise-grade capability for compute-intensive workloads. These instances are ideal for workloads that require the highest single-threaded performance, such as batch processing, video encoding, electronic design automation (EDA), distributed analytics, data science, and AI Inference workloads. These new instances provide performance gains of up to 42% over the prior generation of X7 HPC instances. Moreover, these Intel-powered instances are the first to feature our flexible Compute capabilities, which enable you to choose any granular number of cores and amount of memory to suit your workload’s needs. Katana Graph announced that it has optimized its graph engine for the new 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor and memory systems. Katana Graph can now take advantage of this latest generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel Optane persistent memory technology to process massive graphs on much smaller clusters. This will better support organizations with huge unstructured datasets and graphs, including online retailers, financial institutions, and identity management companies, in understanding their customers, operations, and opportunities. Katana Graph’s platform is deployable right out of the box on both 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with Intel Deep Learning Boost, with no additional modifications required. On 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable processors, Katana Graph’s solution offers a marked improvement in speed combined with the ability to process much larger datasets while using fewer machines. Trifacta announced an expansion to its platform to deliver a data engineering cloud with capabilities to fully support modern data engineers, who apply software development and DevOps practices to build curated, accessible data products for advanced data insights and analytics. Trifacta now offers multi-cloud support, flexible execution (users can choose between ETL or ELT, or a combination of the two based on cost), and universal connectivity to any application with data from more than 180 enterprise data sources and publish refined data to spreadsheets, BI, and reporting tools, as well as to data science notebooks. The connectivity of the Trifacta data engineering cloud is extended with Trifacta’s REST, XML, and JDBC frameworks. The platform offers intelligent data tools that provide self-monitoring and, in some cases, automated remediation of issues that would normally disrupt data pipelines. Yellowbrick Data announced Yellowbrick Manager, which givescustomers unified control of data warehouses across distributed clouds, and thegeneral availability of its new Andromeda optimized instance for customers withdata sovereignty or high-performance requirements. Yellowbrick Manageris a rich web UI that offers a consistent management experience across all datawarehouse deployments in distributed clouds. It simplifies loading data, writing, and editing SQL, and managing Yellowbrick databases. Additionally, the company has augmented itsexisting data lake integration capabilities to include native object storeconnectivity. The new functionality enables high-performance data loading andquerying from files in Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 (Google CloudStorage coming soon), and MinIO object stores. With the native object storefeature, users can load petabytes of data from object stores into Yellowbrick, orchestrated through Yellowbrick Manager, or via SQL using their preferredtools. Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the general availability of Amazon Lookout for Equipment, a new service that uses AWS-developed machine learning models to help customers perform predictive maintenance on the equipment in their facilities. Amazon Lookout for Equipment ingests sensor data from a customer’s industrial equipment (e.g., pressure, flow rate, RPMs, temperature, and power), and then it trains a unique machine learning model to accurately predict early warning signs of machine failure or suboptimal performance using real-time data streams from the customer’s equipment. With Amazon Lookout for Equipment, customers can detect equipment abnormalities with speed and precision, quickly diagnose issues, reduce false alerts, and avoid expensive downtime by taking action before machine failures occur. There are no up-front commitments or minimum fees with Amazon Lookout for Equipment, and customers pay for the amount of data ingested, the compute hours used to train a custom model, and the number of inference-hours used. ScaleOut Software  releasedthe on-premises version of its ScaleOut Digital Twin Streaming Service withall of the analytics and visualization tools available from its Azure-hostedcloud version. Called  ScaleOutStreamServer  DT, the solution lets organizations develop and deploystreaming analytics applications on servers hosted within their infrastructure.ScaleOut Software’s in-memory, streaming analytics platform continuouslyaggregates and visualizes analytics results from real-time digital twins toidentify emerging trends and boost situational awareness. This new techniqueoffers the potential to change the way industries like telematics, securitymonitoring, healthcare, logistics, retail, and financial services process livedata streams and make critical decisions in the moment.
