Loading... In an unprecedented move, Taylor Swift has become the first songwriter to receive seven “Song of the Year” nominations at the Grammy Awards. What Happened: Swift’s nomination for her chart-topping hit “Anti-Hero” at the 2024 Grammy Awards sets her apart from renowned artists like Sir Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie, who have each garnered six nominations in this prestigious category. “Anti-Hero” has also propelled her to new heights, earning her Album and Record of the Year nominations. This puts her in close competition with other celebrated artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, and SZA. Swift’s Album of the Year nomination for “Midnights” is her sixth in this category, equaling her with Barbra Streisand for the most nominations for a female artist. If Swift takes home this award, she will be the first artist to win Album of the Year four times,  reported  BBC. Artists with multiple nominations include SZA, leading with nine nominations, and singer-songwriter Jon Batiste. Swift, SZA, Rodrigo, Batiste, and Cyrus have also been recognized in the “Record of the Year” shortlist. Notably, the Song of the Year category acknowledges songwriters and achievements in composition, while the Record of the Year focuses on the technical recording process. In the final week of October, Swift unveiled her album “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” which  re-recorded the original . The debut of this revamped collection amassed an impressive 1.653 million equivalent album units (EAUs) in the U.S., marking it the biggest album debut of 2023 by a significant margin,  reported  Billboard, citing Luminate.
