Image Source Bengaluru-based startup Venturesity , which encourages job seekers to showcase their talent to employers, has raised Rs 1.6 crore in its first round of funding from RedBus’s co-founder Phanindra Sama, Jay Sethuram (partner at California-based Crestlight Venture Partners), Hemant Kanakia (founder and CEO of Torrent Networking Technology), and Ravi Trivedi (founder of angel fund and incubator Srijan Capital). Sama recently also invested in data analytics company Innovaccer and web content theft prevention startup ShieldSquare As per ET report, The company will look beyond technical hiring, to host events for other job profiles such as design and content creation. Founded in 2013 by Subhendu Panigrahi and Prashant Koirala , it offers a platform where employers can post challenges for job seekers for a particular job profile and candidates shows their skills in real time and get hired. The challenges are in the form of hackathons, codesprints, app development, and online product management challenge etc. The startup also provides workshops and other learning resources to candidates to solve the given task. Recent deals in this space include Delhi-based online talent recruitment marketplace TalentPad , which services more than 1,200 clients, has acquired Bengaluru-based hiring and assessment portal, OptimizedBits , earlier this month. Recruitment startup myNoticePeriod secured Rs 18 crore from IDG Ventures India in series A funding in February this year.
