Our October edition of Movers and Shakers features appointments at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board and our current Rewired Pitchfest champion, CardMedic. James Hawkins has started his role as chief digital and information officer at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Hawkins started the role in September 2022. James Kent has left Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board with immediate effect, on secondment to NHS England, where he will advise chief strategy officer Chris Hopson. NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board has appointed Sarah Stanley as its chief nursing officer. Stanley started her role in September 2022. Our current Rewired Pitchfest champion , CardMedic, has appointed Jim Gabriel as chief commercial officer. Gabriel will be responsible for overseeing all UK and international growth, as the company continues its mission to reduce health inequality globally. He has been on CardMedic’s board since October 2020 and has spent more than two decades building, running and consulting technology companies, most recently as an innovation advisor for TheHill, an innovation accelerator within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He said: “When Tim and Rachael (Co-Founders of CardMedic) asked me to take on the role, I was absolutely delighted. Poor communication in healthcare is a universal problem, and I hope to help healthcare providers all over the world realise that CardMedic is a universal solution.” System C has appointed Brian Collins as a new chief technology officer (CTO) to oversee technological development of the company’s leading healthcare, social care, and education management solutions. Collins joins System C from Accelya and he also spent ten years at Datalex. In his role at System C, he will support the company’s continued growth by driving new innovations, replatforming current critical solutions, developing its nearshoring/ offshoring strategy, improving data and metrics in research and development, structuring the function for scale and success, standardising systems and processes, and managing its cyber response. He said: “I’m really excited to be joining System C and working with the team to ensure the business’s technology strategy is aligned with its goals, while keeping a finger on the technological pulse. “There are lots of opportunities for digital transformation in the markets that we serve currently, and my focus is on responding effectively to enable services to deliver exceptional care.” Lee Perkins has been appointed the UK CEO of software provider Civica. He has held a number of senior positions in the UK technology sector over the past two decades which includes managing director and later group chief operating officer at Sage, CEO M247 (formerly Metronet Group) and UK managing director of Techdata. Civica group chair, Simon Downing said: “I’m delighted to welcome Lee to the team and he joins the business at an exciting time. His experience in leading a scale software product business along with his expertise in SaaS [software as a service], go to market and software product strategy will be valuable in supporting our ambitious growth plans, both in the UK and internationally.” More appointments and departures can be found on  Digital Health Intelligence .
