Japan's Iwatani Corp to buy 19.9% stake in Cosmo Energy from Murakami funds December 01, 2023 at 01:46 am EST Share TOKYO, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Japanese gas company IwataniCorp on Friday said it will raise its stake in CosmoEnergy Holdings to 19.93% by buying shares from fundsrelated to prominent activist shareholder Yoshiaki Murakami for105.3 billion yen ($710.8 million). Murakami's funds have raised their stake in Cosmo Energy tonearly 25% and have pursued a hostile takeover of thethird-biggest Japanese oil refiner, ahead of a shareholder voteon Dec. 14.
