Civil Engineering And Survey Firms To Merge 1/3/17 Two Virginia civil engineering and survey firms, Hurt & Proffitt (H&P) and Anderson & Associates Inc., are merging. Both firms are employee owned. On Jan. 1, Anderson & Associates will join Hurt & Proffitt's operation and do business as H&P. The office will remain in Montgomery County. Jessica Littlejohn, who joined Anderson & Associates in 2013, has been named vice president of Blacksburg Engineering for the newly consolidated company. Chris Kaknis, who joined Anderson & Associates in 1985, will be the vice president of Blacksburg Survey.
