Colorado Impact Fund of Denver and Foundry Group and Greenmont Capital Partners, both of Boulder, received certification from the global nonprofit, which evaluates businesses on corporate transparency, accountability and social and environmental performance. Nearly 30 investors nationwide have been certified, while 1,700 companies globally have attained B Corp status, including 75 in Colorado. "Investors of this caliber choosing to become B Corps marks a major milestone in the business and investing landscape," said B Lab Colorado Director Kim Coupounas in a statement. "These are investors who are thinking deeply about how they can make a positive impact, both through their portfolio investments and their own business operations. Their certification represents a convergence of the innovation and impact communities, and together they are helping lay the foundation of the emerging economy where profit and purpose are interdependent, not mutually exclusive. " Advertisement Colorado Impact fund recently invested $1.5 million in Boulder's TeamSnap in a $10 million round that Foundry Group also participated in. Greenmont Capital's portfolio includes Door to Door Organics in Louisville and Longmont's Madhava Sweeteners. "We know that becoming a B Corp is an affirmation of our longstanding commitment to making competitive investments that have measurable impact and to being a positive example within the investment community at large," said David Haynes, Greenmont's managing director.
