Are you ready for a frosty brew in an even frostier environment? Boston is about to get its first bar made of ice. Frost Ice Bar is scheduled to open in Faneuil Hall next spring, the company announced today. The venue will be constructed and furnished entirely of ice, which means the indoor temperatures will keep at a shiver-inducing 24 degrees, the Frost Group said in its announcement. "While Boston is traditionally defined by its history and heritage, the city is today brimming with a new energy that supports a trendsetting dining and nightlife scene," Frost Group CEO Cindy Brown said in a statement. "Ice bars around the world have proven to be sensationally popular among a broad range of audiences and we believe Frost Ice Bar will be equally well received in New England." The company said the venue will feature "dramatic ice-sculpted interiors." The news release specifically mentioned the venue would make for an unforgettable night for bachelor and bachelorette parties, family outings or corporate events. It remains to be seen however if local New Englanders will want to spend their non-winter months surrounded by ice.
