Kjartan Jansen Principal Expansion Capital Partners, LLC Kjartan assists in the screening and due diligence of prospective investments, and also supports the team in various aspects of investment management, firm building, and research.Prior to Expansion Capital Partners, Kjartan spent time as a research associate covering medical technology at US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, where his main focus was financial due diligence and modeling. He also assisted in writing quarterly research reports. In addition, Kjartans experience includes that of a business analyst at Scient, a former SF based internet consulting firm. Kjartan holds a MA in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Economics from the University of Bergen, Norway, where he graduated number one in his class. In addition to English, Kjartan also speaks Danish, German, Norwegian (native), and Swedish. Representative Investments Agile Systems Agile Systems is a world leader in the design, development and manufacturing of advanced, energy efficient motion control technology including motor control and power conversion. The Agile Systems team is highly skilled in integrating power electronics, digital controls and network communications into small, compact and cost effective packages. Agile Systems has established customers in a broad range of industries and is based in Waterloo, ON. Biorem Biorem manufactures biofilters to eliminate odors, volatile organic compounds and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) at industrial sites and municipal waste water treatment plants. The waste water market is trending to biofilters as the best solution for odor control as they have the lowest lifecycle cost and highest airflow treatment capacity. The Company employs a proprietary bio-based filtration media and systems configuration to eliminate odorous chemical compounds at sewage works and industrial facilities. Biorem serves municipal waste water treatment plants and industrial sites across North America. Tiger Optics Started in 1999, Tiger Optics designs, develops, markets, and services electro-optic analyzers and components worldwide. Its devices address a wide array of markets, from semiconductor manufacturing to petrochemical production and environmental monitoring, among others. SensorTran develops advanced fiber-optic based sensors for complex asset monitoring applications.
