Represents Second Firm Supported by EMC’s Platform for Emerging Private Equity Managers Greens Farms Capital Offers Flexible Capital Solutions to Owner-Entrepreneurs July 01, 2020 08:45 AM Eastern Daylight Time CHICAGO & BOSTON & WESTPORT, Conn.--( BUSINESS WIRE )--Evolution Managers Capital (“EMC”), a platform for emerging private equity managers to launch their own investment efforts, today announced the backing of Greens Farms Capital LLC (“Greens Farms Capital”), a new private equity firm led by veteran middle market investor, Michael B. Kessler. Greens Farms Capital is the second firm to join EMC’s platform following the launch of Conanicut Capital in March 2020. EMC was formed in October 2019 by HC Private Investments (“HCPI”), a Chicago-based private investment firm, and Landon Capital Partners (“LCP”), a Boston-based family office, to provide financial backing and support to private equity managers who are focused on lower-middle market businesses. HCPI Managing Partners, John Kelly and Matthew Moran, and LCP Managing Partner, Chris Sullivan, serve as co-Managing Partners of EMC. Greens Farms Capital was founded to be the institutional partner of choice for owners and entrepreneurs seeking capital for growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations, or personal liquidity related to financial or estate planning. Through a flexible, value-added approach, Greens Farms Capital seeks to eliminate the friction related to the decision to raise capital by offering both control and non-control investments. Greens Farms Capital intends to make investments of $10 million to $20+ million in growing companies with EBITDA ranging from $2 to $5 million across the business services, software and technology, media and marketing services, and value-added manufacturing sectors. Previously, Mr. Kessler was a Partner at The Riverside Company and at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, and has experience leading both control and non-control investments. “We are excited to partner with Michael Kessler, a highly experienced and successful investor, to support the launch of Greens Farms Capital,” said Messrs. Kelly, Moran and Sullivan. “We have invested successfully alongside Michael in the past and admired his approach to working closely with management teams to enhance growth and profitability. We look forward to bringing the full resources of EMC to bear in supporting the launch and growth of Greens Farms Capital and are actively seeking additional talented and emerging investment managers to add to our platform.” Mr. Kessler added, “I am thrilled to work with the Evolution Managers Capital team, whose backing will enable us to partner with talented management teams and provide them with board-level guidance from experienced investment professionals and successful entrepreneurs. We intend to focus on companies that could benefit from creating scale economies from add-on acquisitions or making additional investments to enhance operating performance. Additionally, we are able to offer more patient capital not subject to the investment horizon limitations of the traditional private equity model.” ABOUT GREENS FARMS CAPITAL LLC Greens Farms Capital LLC (“Greens Farms Capital”) is a Westport, CT based private equity firm backed by Evolution Managers Capital that makes control and non-control investments in lower middle market companies.
