Empire Precision acquires assets of Advanced Mold & Tooling Rochester Business Journal December 22, 2016 Empire Precision Plastics in Rochester has purchased the assets of Advanced Mold & Tooling Inc. in Gates, a move that expands Empire’s tooling and manufacturing capabilities. The deal also increases the firm’s ability to build tools used in the medical, industrial, firearms and electronics industries, Empire Precision leaders said. Financial details were not provided. Founded in 1992, Empire Precision provides product development, prototyping and component assembly as well as injection molding services. It ranked 10th on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of optics and imaging firms. The company hired 12 employees from Advanced Mold & Tooling as a result of the deal, increasing Empire Precision’s workforce to 108 people. “We’re excited to be able to design, manufacture and validate tools for clients to do their own molding,” said Neal Elli, Empire Precision president, in a statement. “This is one more way we can help customers go to market faster.” (c) 2016 Rochester Business Journal.
