By SHARE Clinikk, an online healthcare services provider, has raised pre-Series A funding in a round led by US-based early-stage investment firm Emphasis Ventures. Times Internet Ltd, a subsidiary of media house Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd, also participated in this funding round, according to media reports citing a statement by Clinikk. Early-stage venture capital firm WEH Ventures and 500 Startups’ Southeast Asia-focused 500 Durians fund put in money as well. Individual investors including Anjali Joshi, former product vice president at Google, also contributed. Ltd, was founded by Suraj Baliga and Bhavjot Kaur in 2016. The startup offers medical consultation and healthcare insurance, among other services. Baliga said in the statement the company covers over 500,000 people across India. Emphasis Ventures Emphasis Ventures, which has offices in the US and India, is focused on financial services and adjacent technologies in India, according to its website. It was founded by Melissa Frakman in 2018. Frakman’s additional prior roles include vice president of operations for food delivery firm Zomato.
