He recognized that the Lions Club, which has an outreach focus of improving vision, could be interested in supporting the VPAS Diabetes Self Management (DSMP) program, as diabetes is a risk factor for vision issues. He had invited Joyce Nussbaum, VPAS’ Chronic Disease Self Management Education (CDSME) Coordinator, to speak to their organization at their Oct. 22 meeting about DSMP. Subsequently, the Waynesboro Lions Club board voted to donate up to $400 to VPAS for a DSMP workshop to be held in Waynesboro before the end of June 2014.
