Draper Fisher Jurvetson, DFJ Tamir Fishman Ventures, Individuals’ Venture Fund and Xenia Venture Capital provided the capital. Superfish plans to use the capital to expand operations, boost market position, build channel partnerships and enhance product innovation and development. PRESS RELEASE Superfish, an emerging Silicon Valley company specializing in visual product search, today announced it received $4 million in Series C funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, DFJ Tamir Fishman Ventures, Individuals’ Venture Fund and Xenia Venture Capital. Superfish previously received a $5.3 million Series B funding in 2008, from these same investment firms. Superfish will use the proceeds of its series C funding to expand operations, boost market position, build channel partnerships and enhance product innovation and development. Superfish has successfully rolled out its visual search platform, and introduced a working prototype called Window Shopper–a browser add-on that allows users to search for identical or similar products across thousands of sites. With just one click, it extracts the “visual DNA”of a query image and compares that image to an index of over 110 million products in order to reveal identical or similar results. Since its launch in April, Window Shopper has grown to over 1 million active users. “Superfish is changing the way search is done by adding a visual component,” said Adi Pinhas, co-founder and President. “This funding will enable Superfish to explore new avenues for visual search and updated ways for both consumers and brands to use the power of visual search to improve their search experience.” About Superfish Superfish is setting the standard for visual product search, making it easy for consumers to find identical or similar images and products based on the visual DNA of nearly any kind of image.
