1 hour ago The “Bill Gates of the Philippines” has resigned as director of the Ayala-owned Integrated Microelectronics Inc. Silicon Valley visionary Diosdado “Dado” Banatao stepped down from the IMI board on 28 June 2021 due to “personal reasons.” He joined the IMI board in 2020. The 73-year old alumnus of Mapua Institute of Technology and Stanford University designed the first single chip, 16-bit microprocessor-based calculator (which catapulted Commodore to success in the 1970s) and the chip set and the Windows Graphics accelerator chip for personal computers.
