The fund is affiliated with and located on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus near Denver, Colorado. The limited partners include, among others, the University of Colorado, UCHealth, Children’s Hospital Colorado and CU Medicine, all located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. The fund will focus on investing in early stage healthcare companies that have a business relationship with the partner institutions. The fund expects a majority of its investments to be focused on digital health and healthcare IT ventures that have a co-development relationship with the campus. The fund will also invest in therapeutics and medical devices that have been developed on the campus and licensed to outside proven entrepreneurial teams with substantial backing. The fund has already invested in eight companies and continues to pursue new opportunities aggressively. More information on the fund, the portfolio, and the investing team can be found at http://www. cuvcfund. com. “We have been exploring starting a fund of this kind for many years,” said Donald Elliman, Jr., Chancellor of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. “With the maturing of our campus innovation ecosystem led by CU Innovations, our success with several early stage ventures, and the proven collaboration between all of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus institutions, it was clear the time was right to scale a formal stand-alone fund.” While independent of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and its world-class hospital partners, the fund will utilize its campus relationships to de-risk early-stage investments in new technologies that enable clinicians to improve patient care and better utilize the vast amount of healthcare data being generated to improve decision making at the point of care or identify new treatments. The goal is to build a portfolio of companies that have an initial product that can leverage the resources of the campus to evolve that product to better meet the needs of healthcare systems and providers nationally, while improving the patient experience and lowering the cost of care. ### About the CU Healthcare Innovation Fund The CU Healthcare Innovation fund is an independent venture capital fund affiliated with and located on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
