French independent renewable power producer Technique Solaire has raised EUR 200 million (USD 213.8m) in a funding round among its founders and existing shareholders Credit Agricole Group and Bpifrance. The fresh capital is aimed at supporting the company’s efforts to expand both on the domestic market and abroad, Technique Solaire said on Friday. Following the transaction, the company's three founding members will continue to be its majority owners through the JLT Invest holding company. Set up back in 2008, Technique Solaire currently has more than 450 MWp of solar assets, including ground-mounted, rooftop and carport installations, and a 2-GWp pipeline. Roughly 200 MWp of the installed portfolio comes from photovoltaic (PV) plants combined with agricultural activities. Technique Solaire’s strategic plan envisages achieving ownership of 1 GW by the end of 2024. The commissioning target for the end of the decade stands at 4 GW and envisages an investment of some EUR 4 billion in the 2024-2030 period. (EUR 1.0 = USD 1.069)
