American Tower stock climbs after Q2 earnings beat, raised AFFO/shr outlook

Jul 28, 2022

paule858/E+ via Getty Images American Tower (NYSE: AMT ) stock is gaining 3.4% in Thursday midday trading after the telecom tower REIT raising the midpoint of its full-year 2022 outlook for AFFO per share by $0.02. The AFFO per share outlook range now stands at $9.62-$9.86, still less than the $10.48 consensus. Q2 AFFO per share of $2.51 beat the average analyst estimate of $2.46 and compared with $2.55 in Q1 and $2.39 in Q2 2021. "We delivered strong financial and operational results in the second quarter, while generating double-digit dividend per share growth and building over 1,500 high-return towers," said CEO Tom Bartlett. Taking into account expected negative effects from foreign exchange and increased interest expense on the higher debt for financing its CoreSite acquisition, the telecom tower REIT is reducing full-year total adjusted FFO attributable to AMT common stockholders to $4.46B-$4.57B vs. $4.55B-$4.66B it issued in April. Likewise, 2022 adjusted EBITDA of $6.54B-$6.65B guidance was lowered from $6.56B-$6.67B in guidance issued in April. Note that AMT completed its acquisition of CoreSite at the end of 2021. Earlier, American Tower FFO of $2.51 beats by $0.05, revenue of $2.67B beats by $30M, cuts FY22 guidance Recommended For You
