March 15 (Now Renewable) – Brazilian transmission infrastructure builder and energy company Celeo Redes Brasil SL plans to develop a solar power project with a capacity of around 400 MW to 500 MW in Piaui state, the state government said on Friday. Celeo Redes, majority owned by Spanish infrastructure builder Elecnor SA (BME: ENO) with Dutch pension fund manager APG Management NV holding 49%, expects to invest up to BRL 1.5 billion (USD 192.6 million / EUR 170 million) in the project. the. The new solar power plant will be located between the northern city of Buriti dos Lopes and Bom Principio do Piaui with commercial operations set to begin in January 2025. Currently, the project is in the licensing stage, the state said. Celeo Redes already has a solar power plant operating in Sao Joao do Piaui and is now seeking to double its capacity. The company is also working on the construction of a 415 km (257.9 mi) long transmission line to connect Piaui with the neighboring state of Ceara.
