New San Antonio home allows Maryland-based firm to pursue significant expansions. 09-11-2023 SAN ANTONIO, TX — Another leading name in information security is planting its flag in the Alamo City — one of America's largest and fastest-growing centers of cyber expertise. Established more than 16 years ago in Maryland, IntelliGenesis provides an array of support to defense and intelligence customers, including cybersecurity, analytics, machine learning and data science, among other capabilities. Now, a new operation, established within the space occupied by tech accelerator Capital Factory in the heart of the Port San Antonio campus, allows the IntelliGenesis team to better serve regional customers as well as develop new defense and commercial business in the region and well beyond. The new location places IntelliGenesis' San Antonio hub at the center of a thriving community of cyber and other technology leaders. As an important component of the Boeing Center at Tech Port's large multi-use facility, Capital Factory provides offices that are adjacent to spaces that regularly host gatherings, activations, technology demonstrations and other engagements that bring together public- and private-sector players, academia and researchers, as well as potential clients and collaborators. The Port's expansive campus — San Antonio's largest concentration of technology talent — is already home to significant operations that depend on the products and capabilities developed by innovators like IntelliGenesis. Among them are the Air Force's national cybersecurity headquarters — the 16th Air Force — as well as top players in aerospace, space science, robotics and numerous applied technologies that require a wide range of capabilities to safeguard their operations and digital assets against the growing tide of emerging threats to the nation's critical infrastructure. "We're excited to plant our flag in one of our nation's preeminent centers of cybersecurity excellence," said IntelliGenesis President and CEO Angie Lienert during a launch ceremony at Capital Factory on September 6. "We appreciate having a space that is not only flexible, but that also places our team at the center of an important conversation with our customers, new partners and a market with tremendous growth potential. I'm confident that our arrival will be just the first among many announcements to come as we continue to grow the reach of our strategic support in San Antonio and well beyond." "It's an incredible time to be on the front lines of information security innovation, to be in San Antonio and to specifically be at the Port," said IntelliGenesis Chief Strategy Officer Rich Valdez, a cybersecurity executive with deep San Antonio roots who will also be leading IntelliGenesis' local team. 'The Port and Capital Factory are much more than landlords — they are true partners who understand our mission and are at the ready to provide us with the near- and long-term strategic support that we will need to succeed in providing top-tier service while also executing an ambitious growth plan." "We're very pleased to add another respected industry name to our campus and to our community," said Port San Antonio President and CEO Jim Perschbach. "We look forward to providing a broad range of support to ensure that IntelliGenesis can make important connections here — whether it is with existing or future customers or strategic partners as they grow their San Antonio operations in the months and years ahead. We see the Port as a special place where people can build their futures and are proud that another technology leader has placed their trust in our team to help them reach new levels of success." IntelliGenesis' new home at Capital Factory is located within the new Boeing Center at Tech Port (above) — a vast multi-purpose facility that offers the newly-arrived company space to house its initial team as well as access to features such as a cybersecurity simulator within the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology's AREA 21 exhibit hall (below), where it can conduct trainings or showcase its products to prospective clients. The Capital Factory space is also a key destination for San Antonio's growing technology community — spaces that conduct strategic engagements, such as a recent discussion among startup company founders who shared experiences on developing new technologies that can be adopted by the region's large defense sector (below).
